Artist Statement:
“I’m a self-taught artist from Auckland, New Zealand, specialising in portraiture. My creative process derives from being drawn to anatomy and the way emotion can be conveyed through a third person. I always enjoyed the oddities of humanity and wanted to portray that through my style by creating a stylised look that isn’t quite realism but isn’t quite surrealism either.
Portraits are used as an outlet being able to show what other people are thinking and feeling without knowing or having met them. Being a portrait artist means I can show inclusiveness in what I do by drawing people of relevance and importance in the minority groups of the world, while also having fun and drawing recognised and loveable characters and people”
