Tonight’s fabulous queer artist feature is @aubreylongleycook



BIO

Aubrey Longley-Cook (b. Hartford, CT. 1985) is a Los Angeles based artist who creates hand-stitched embroideries and stop-motion animations that document queer communities and digital culture.

He was the 2016 Wesley Mancini Artist-In Residence at the McColl Center for Art + Innovation.



His work has been shown at THE LODGE, the British Textile Biennial, the Leslie-Lohman Museum, the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, the Laband Gallery at Loyola Marymount University, the Decker Gallery at Maryland Institute College of Art, the Zuckerman Museum of Art at Kennesaw State University, the Dalton Gallery at Agnes Scott College, Joseph Gross Gallery, Branch Gallery, and South Bay Contemporary SoLA Gallery.



His work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, Art Papers, Queer Threads, KCET, the Journal of Modern Craft, Textiel Plus, OUT, Ampersand LA, WUSSY MAG, Pelican Bomb, and BURNAWAY. He received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design.
