Tonight’s fabulous queer artist feature is @d.generee
Artist Statement:
I’m a French lesbian artist, living in Paris. I’m a feminist and I do art first for women and for queers. I mainly do illustration, but also do animation and I’m just starting tattooing.
My inspiration comes from films, 19th century and Renaissance paintings, illustration, and the amazing lesbians in my life.
In the future, I want to do more things around cities and great queer people of the past - and maybe try comics. I’m also a historian, and I feel it’s very important that we learn and reclaim our history. In that way, art is to me part of queer utopia. It claims the world as our own and allows us to glimpse at queer time and place, to better imagine our future affective worlds.
