I have a multimedia practice that responds to attitudes toward gender and sexuality. Drawing and collage on various surfaces is a key process when exploring cultural and political commentary in the aim of liberating social minorities. I have an abstract practice and process. Colourful pallet combined with imagery of popular magazine imagery seeks to provide alternative contexts and narratives to challenge tradition. An example would be my queer cowboy series, challenging traditional notions of masculinity by using contrasting western imagery and the pink colour palette. Using vintage film scenes and stills to bring them into a modern context. Varied texture and materials make an appearance in my practice through found packaging and objects. For example, a series of mine that comments on consumer culture uses disposed packaging with familiar imagery.
