Tonight's fabulous queer artist feature is @intern3tbrat
Artist Bio:
My name is Amara Chanel, but sometimes when i rap i like to go by intern3tbrat. I’m an aspiring rapper-singer-songwriter! My art comes from a very intersectional place of wanting to express myself & also shock people, because deep down at heart I’m a performer that thrives off of crowd energy.
I like to write about things that people say women shouldn’t rap or sing about because I like to challenge status quos, like why should Drake be able to rap about his sex life & I shouldn’t? that jus doesn’t seem equal to me.
My music i would say also comes from a very intersectional place, and that’s why it’s so hard for me to pin it to just one genre, because although I identify with being a form of a rapper- there is an obvious and undeniable pop/r&b influence to most things that i do. My overall goal of my music though is to make people think or sit back & rly evaluate what i’ve said, because I feel like nowadays the meaning of lyrics has been lost in music and that’s something that I strive to bring back♡
