Sergent Pouce - The Art of Being Queer

Tonight’s queer artist feature is Sergent Pouce

Sergent Pouce

I am Sergent Pouce. I am a queer male illustrator based in Lille (France). As a child, I grew up in different rural regions of France filled with legends, ghosts and magic.

Most of the stories I’ve been told were featuring female characters, and even though they were most of the time depicted as monsters all I could see was strength and power.

That’s what I am trying to show when I draw a witch or a mermaid, a powerful character who sees nothing wrong being who they trully are, and the parallel with being queer is quite obvious to me.

Maybe that’s why the rare men I draw have always something feminine
