A Brokeback Mountain type of love, riding lust by horseback into the sunset; by morning it's gone before the coffee's made. We're too scared to admit it. Drunken nights rekindle a temporary flame, the stars collide, and I confess; you're my Supernova. Queer emotions clash with masculinity in this cowboy-themed, pop-country jam.
"Supernova" marks the second release from collaborators Jack Greenwood (Austin, TX) and TeawhYB (Green Bay, WI) as they tease their upcoming, yet still untitled album. Their first single, "Backyard Basketball" was used in a Capital One ad during the NCAA March Madness tournament that featured NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley. TeawhYB will be debuting "Supernova" with a live performance the day of the release as the headliner for Star City Pride.
“Being aware of your identity is much different than accepting it. I was outted in High School and at the time I didn't identify with what I perceived to be gay culture so part of my mission is to show that your influence can spread across labels and stereotypes when you're unequivocally, you. It took a while but once I was finally comfortable in my own skin everything started clicking musically. I was never in choir or band class, so the only thing I know about music is what I feel, that's something you can't fake.”
Alt-Hip-Pop artist, TeawhYB (T-Y-B), represents a brand of authenticity and ultimate connectivity, providing heartfelt commentary centered on self-actualization, celebration, and sorrow over guitars, synths, and drum kits.
Originating from Green Bay, WI and formerly noted for his college-life, party-induced sound, TeawhYB took a hiatus from a budding music career while coming to terms with his personal identity. He has since redirected his auditory creativity, mending his past, present, and future.
