Tonight's queer artist feature is Vermelha Noir
Vermelha Noir
Main figure and conceptual drag pioneer in Querétaro, México; Member of the House of Black and White and House of Apocalipstick; defines herself as a timeless entity, mainly a feminine creature, even though she can turn her energy into masculine, animal or even an object but mostly a fashion lover, art freak, extravagant, opulent between other qualities.
Vermelha is the materialization of the freedom of her creator, in response to a life full of oppression & taboos, she was born from the darkness, that's why her skin is mainly pale or white, as a canvas, in which she can paint, destroy, create as I want without anybody telling her what to do, she doesn´t have an specific face due that she shows versatility through drag make up, design, clothing and her scenic development.
From the Portuguese word "Vermelha - Red" and the french word "Noir - Black" both strong and aggressive colors which also evoke to passion and elegance and sometimes death.
Vermelha is here to bring conceptual drag to get more known in her country and flood Mexico's drag scene with ancient cultures, fashion, art and couture, to inspire those ones who feel rejected because of being different and encourage them that they can be whoever they want to be and prove that drag can be appreciated in many aspects far from the club scene.
"Feeling authentic makes us free.“
